Lorenzo Arduengo prize for "We Weren't Given Anything for Free"
What a way to start! We Weren't Given Anything for Free has won the main prize of the press "Lorenzo Arduengo" at it's world premiere at the Festival Mundial de Cine Extremo "San Sebastián de Veracruz" in Mexiko. The festival "states:
"The jury attributed its decision on one hand to the conclusive insight in the important role patriotic female partisans were playing in World War 2 in Italy, and on the other hand to the unstained cinematical realization of this subject."
Of course I am quite too fastidious with my own concoctions to refer to it with terms like "unstained cinematical realization", but then again one shouldn't object if someone is handing you over a prize. In Germany there is a saying "Einem geschenkten Entsafter schaut man nicht in die Innereien", which means that there are worse things than actually getting a prize...
